It’s mid-July and the annual Summer heat and humidity festival has begun! I am not at all complaining as we were blessed to have a wonderful Spring in Kentucky. When the kids are out of school and it’s officially summer do you visit family out of state, go on vacation or the beach, or take the family camping? Whenever I've been asked this question the answer is almost always “Nope” Lol Most folks don’t know that as a 365-day dairy farmer, taking a weeks vacation is almost impossible. Even a weekend or overnight stay is hard work and requires much planning. However, I knew this before getting into dairying and to be honest, after careful consideration, it was one of the reasons I decided to buy my 1st cow. I was truly ready to commit myself to a cow and literally "marry" the farm. It’s hard to explain, I guess you just have to be in that same place to understand what "season" I was in at that time in my life. Seasons- Life really is all about seasons. So now that we are in the thick of it, what are your plans for summertime fun? ![]() If you have some time I’d love to have you and your family for an overnight farm stay! Our nightly rates are down for family summer nights. This is a seasonal thing we do to make sure we are making time for our raw milk community friends. It’s really fun and you will experience a real-life of milking cows, collecting eggs, and pasture rotation of chickens, sheep, and goats. So seriously we wanna see you- Go look at your calendar and figure when you can fit some time in there for your family to come to hang out with us! Heck, Who knows what might happen? You guys may get to loving this farm life as much as we do! Lol~ Believe me it happens! Our schedule is quite packed. We are operating a 501c3 charity in the Dairy Dream for free overnight farm stays to kids with terminal illnesses. So I hope you will find a day/night that will accommodate to your schedule. In the meantime here is a video of two friends |
